First time staying at the Westin Nanea last week. I was a bit underwhelmed. The shower was so dirty with mold and mildew that we had housekeeping come and clean it before we were comfortable using it. I don't know if we were just unlucky with this room but I've never had to do that before anywhere.

I hope also it was a one off. We are at Nanea now and the 2-bedroom villa was spotless.

Its more than just Marriott that has limited the housekeeping. Hilton Hotels has officially changed this to on request only.

Hilton does away with daily housekeeping for most U.S. hotels

Effective this week, daily housekeeping will be performed only upon request, except at the company's Conrad, LXR and Waldorf Astoria luxury hotels.
