We will be staying there for a couple of nights in a one bedroom using abound points before moving over to Desert Springs Villas 1. We have never been to Mission Hills so I would appreciate recommendations for buildings to select.

Thanks.

The resort has very few redeeming qualities. Which building you stay in may or may not matter much. If you want to be close to parking, you may want to request that. Only a few of the buildings have elevators to the second floor (I believe it is 36, 37 and 38), so be sure to request those or a ground floor if you can't do stairs. There are a few buildings with golf course views or you may want to stay closer to the "quieter" East Pool. Check out the resort map and you may also want to watch some videos on YouTube about the property. Realize that the map hasn't been updated in a while and there is no access to the hotel that the map is pointing to or shows.

Dioxide45 provides a lot of good information, but I find that the resort offers many positives which bring us back on a regular basis.
I posted a review of this resort which you may wish to read. Enjoy your trip to the Coachella Valley.

Were frequent visitors over the years since our son lives in LA, but we always stay in one of the Marriott timeshares in PD. Thought we would try someplace different this time for a few days.

Out of curiosity I counted up our trips to Palm Desert since starting when our son entered USC in 2003. Including the coming trip, we will have been to Palm Desert sixteen times, several times for multiple weeks. We used to fly into LAX, but now use PSP.

One nice feature of WMH is the individual barbecues on the balcony, I believe you will have one in a premium 1 BR unit. Since you're only there a couple of nights maybe you won't be cooking, but for longer stays, the individual barbecues are a lot more convenient than the shared barbecues that most properties have.

Yeah, those are one of the "few redeeming qualities" I was referring to.
