All,

Jonell and I are going out to Palm Springs area in early March for a weekend and I was doing some thread searching on WDW vs. WMH.

We are leaning towards WMH because the hotel pool looks terrific and we like the access to the hotel spa. The grounds at WMH also look beautiful.

I was intrigued because WDW seems to be the preferred property in many of the comparisons in older threads.

Can TUGgers comment if the WMH hotel pool is really a step up, and if it as convenient as it appears to visit the hotel from the villas? The hotel access is the tie-break for us, as we love visiting Marriotts that have access to the hotel property amenities too.

Please advise and thanks!

Best,

Greg

And that’s it, no more. Definitely done!
Was just there end of Oct. Hotel access is a short walk away. Although we saw the main pool at hotel, never used it as the villas pool was more convenient and just as nice. Spa at hotel was ok, nothing special. In fact steam room wasn't even working day I went by. The casino/ hotel down the street , Aqua Claliente had a much much nicer spa and more reasonably priced.
We did go by and look around WDW. I think the main difference between WMH and WDW is the WMH is mission style lush landscaping and WDW very Desert like and dry. WDW is of course newer but WMH has just gone through renovations so anything was new.
We would not hesitate going back to WMH. That's our vote.

stayed at wmh, and own wdw,

if first time stay at wmh, as more activities and more things going on in the vicinity , restaurants etc.., the drive to wdw from wmh, is like driving through a ghost town, literally at the end of the desert to wdw, not much around that area, but if you have kids the waterslides are better at wdw, if just adults then wmh is a better place due to location, none of these resorts are in central palm springs, still a good 20 minute drive to downtown area, hope that helps cheers

Thank you both for your comments -- I am looking forward to visiting both properties and think starting at WMH will work well for our adult trip. Thanks again for the comments!

Best,

Greg

Depending on the building you're in at WMH it could be a fairly long (>1/2 mile) walk to the hotel pool/spa but I'm pretty sure they do have a shuttle going back and forth.

I should have said in my post that I do like to walk and do so daily. In any case, every time I walk from the villas to the hotel there were golf cart shuttles passing all the way asking if I needed a ride. So yes, there are cart shuttles going on continuously.

Golf?

From a golf perspective, which golf course is better and plays better?
