Also, the buildings are laid out in ZigZag fashion and some units right next to where another building Zigs out have a much reduced view. On Checkin if they assign you one of these rooms, see if they can assign another.

Have a great vacation!

Thanks for the info. I've never been there, but I'm considering buying one to use, rent & trade. All the ads for them I've seen are oceanfront, oceanview or "varies". I haven't seen anything as a garden view. Can I at least assume that anyone staying there would have an ocean peek? :)

Yes, you're fairly safe assuming that. I would think there less likely to put an owner in one of the lesser view units. There are two unit types at Lagunamar: Ocean Side and everything else. There are fairly few units that are deeded Ocean Side. They may not come up for sale often. Here's some info on that:

I would just request top floor when making a request if you're concerned about getting a good view.

Go to maps.google.com and enter Westin Lagunamar in the search bar. It will take you to the location. You can then turn on the satellite view and look at the proper from above, so you can see what it looks like.

You can even grab the little yellow stick figure on the right bottom corner and drop it in the middle of the big pool. This gives you a street view and you can turn around and view the property (click and drag on a side of the picture) as if you were standing where you dropped the figure. You can do the same on the street side to see the outside of the property an the plaza across the street.

The blue dot near the pool indicates the Photosphere feature is available for that location.
