Traded 2010 use 27th wk premium bdrm phase I Harborside via II for a 2bdroom 2nd wk of November. Which building(s) are Sun-Sun? best location?

They all have ocean views, higher floors the better. I cant help you with buildings designated for specific check in days...not sure if that is even applicable here since there were a lot of "hotel" guests when we were there. We did tour a 2BR unit at the end of the building closest to the beach (they are arranged like a V shape) and their views were magnificent!

How'd Cancun fare after Hurricane Rina?

We'll have to wait and see. A long lasting tropical storm can do more damage than a fast passing hurricane. Plus, Rina may just circle around and come back for more.

Lagunamar does not assign check in days to buildings or floors of buildings. You can be assigned wherever there is a vacancy - even Ocean Side units right at the beach at the ends of Buildings 1 and 9 if there are vacancies because OS rooms are not reserved with 12-8 month reservations made by owners of the OS weeks.

II traders are at the bottom of the reservation totem pole. But never fear. All the rooms at Lagunamar face the ocean (1 and 9) or have pretty nice ocean views through the break in the buildings surrounding the pools. Enjoy! ... eom

Thanks ALL for the info. Would it help to ask the 'personal concierge' for a certain building/floor?

Don't see any debris on HZ beach via webcam & surf a lot calmer - looks like everything is good to go. Hopefully Tulum area did not have much or any damage either.

I'd ask for a high floor. The top is 8. However, the balconies on 8 are open to the sky and, if you leave something (like a computer or an iPhone) on them and it rains???

Better to ask for floor 5, 6 or 7. The balconies on those floors are covered by the balconies above them. They are high enough for great views.

If your personal concierge is asking for work to do, ask about a floor. But, the concierge will then try to make you feel beholden to go to a sales pitch. ... eom

In January, the concierge got us 2 deeply discounted trips to Xel Ha. They also arranged reasonably priced taxi service to and from the new grocery store in town. And they ensured that the somewhat disfunctional WiFi service in our unit got repaired quickly and correctly. And they gave us good pointers to restaurants in town, with a discount coupon for at least one.

We like the concierge.
