I went to my second timeshare presentation for the Westin Lagunamar in Cancun today. Here was the offer:
37,000 points
$14,236 + $845 closing
$697 maintenance

Incentives:
5% off
74,000 options which can be used after 6 months or a 20% down payment
$0 down, 60 days until first payment
4 certificates that allow you to buy 150,000 Bonvoy points for $1075 each
Unlimited Getaway

I ended up walking away since I saw people having so many issues with booking on this site, but for a moment I thought it might be a good idea. Did I miss out?

If you like Lagunamar buy resale from an existing owner. You will save on the upfront costs, pay lower maintenance fees, have real 12 months priority and will be able to trade your week for other great resorts through Interval.

37,000 is a low season studio. It has zero resale value.

You can buy, resale, a high season 1br for about $4,000 - $5,000, or a high season 2br for about $8,000 - $10,000. Maybe less.

When do yo plan on traveling there? Buy a Sheraton vistana villages key west or Bella phase two bedroom and book at 8 months.
