We were there Christmas week in a 2br lock off. The one side had a Keurig, but it was one of those weird hotel units where you dump the water in for each cup. It would only brew about a 6, maybe 8, oz cup. And only fit a very small cup. So it was pretty useless.

We were there a couple weeks ago, in the 1BR Premium . Pools are open, but you get a teal or grey wristband and alternate morning or afternoon session daily. Spaced out pool chairs. Nice treat- the hot tubs were open, with max 4-6 people. You don’t have access to the hotel pool.
McDowells market/eatery is open with outdoor seating. Gym is open with a reservation. No owner events, but still fun trivia at the pool.
Masks required in hallways, elevator, and indoors. But since most is outside, it was easy to walk outside without a mask(with distancing), but many including us wore masks when alit of people were around.

Nothing in the villas really changed since the furniture reservation a few years ago. Exact same kitchen appliances/utensils

It rotates daily. So you get 8-12:30 one day and 1-5:30 the next.

Is it because of Covid 19 that WKV guests don't have access to the hotel pool? We exchanged to WKV 14 years ago and really enjoyed the hotel's lazy river.

Was the hotel's pool and lazy river no longer available to WKV guests even prior to Covid?

We visited Kierland recently over Spring Break while staying at SDO. The hotel pool gatekeeper had a seasonal date list of when villa guests were/were not allowed to use the hotel pool. She said it was a capacity thing and I felt it was in place each year...although I didn't ask. I thought I remembered mid April the pool was again open to villa guests. A quick phone call should verify. Enjoy your stay..we can't wait to stay there also as it will be our first time.

Combination of COVID and busy Spring Break. Trying to limit capacity. Although, I’ve been going there for Spring Break for a decade and hotel pool has almost always been open for us.

I think they are opening hotel pool to villas again soon now that spring break is winding down

How are the crowds at the hotel pool?

The bell man told us that both resorts are at 95% capacity. The hotel pool was busy on Thursday, but there were plenty of empty chairs.

I'm late to the party, as usual. We were there in February in a premium 1BR and still had the old Mr. Coffee machine. I don't think the pot had ever been cleaned; it was disgusting. I soaked and scrubbed it until it was presentable. We also had a pot that was so damaged that it the cooktop wouldn't work. It took two trips from engineering to figure out that was the problem. We had to request some kitchen items - unlike the Sheraton, which was fully stocked, this property (and WDW, so I think it must be a Westin thing) had cut supplies to what they considered "necessary". They were happy to bring over the other items, though.
