Can you rent reservations made with Staroptions by paying the fee? I thought I read somewhere that you can only rent Home Resort Resservations.

Technically you are not supposed to but the fact that they have a fee and charge it indicates that they know what is going on. I think 'by law' they are in their rights to suspend your membership but haven't heard of that ever being done. I suppose 'renting' is the operative word, you could be giving it away to friends/relatives.

We are Westin Flex owners. So, we have four "home" resorts as I understand Westin Flex. I was able to rent the Westin Nanea that we booked with our options. I don't know about other owner's who own at one specific home resort.

We just rented the Westin Nanea, two bedroom, for two weeks for $8,000 using RedWeek. Our first time renting so I used the RedWeek full-service option.

Is that OF or Resort View? If it's the latter I hope you had a good timestamp or someone might be disappointed paying $8K to look at the parked cars for 2 weeks.

I am following up after a successful renting experience on RedWeek. We rented two weeks at Westin Nanea, 2 bedroom, for $8000, less RedWeeks fees. A popular destination, it was rented within 2 weeks of posting. I chose the full service RedWeek option. They handled the contract. We received payment as scheduled. We have 2 weeks reserved at Westin Keirland in November. Looking at rates on RedWeek, the Scottsdale property commands much lower nightly or weekly rates. Not sure if I will post for rental at this time.

Kierland March weeks easily rent for 2k over maintenance fees.

Oh I am a 5 start elite so it’s free. This was my first time renting and did not know there was a fee to change the name.

It's not completely free technically. For 5* you get a waiver based on the number of deeds you own (so if you own 5 weeks you get 5 free name changes). But if, for example, you rent your 2BR lockoff as two 1BR units booked with Staroptions then you may exceed the free name changes and be required to pay a discounted fee ($39 instead of $69).

May all be moot anyway with the upcoming changes...
