One of the timeshares that I own is a Westin fixed week, fixed unit 7 with a Saturday check-in. On most years, week 7 includes President's day which is important to me, since my kids have the entire week off. Unfortunately, it appears that Week 7 in 2022 will not include President's day for Sat and Sun check-in owners but will do so for Fri check-in owners. In 2022, President's Day is Feb 21. I attach the Vistana timeshare reservation calendar I got off the web with the particular week highlighted. This calendar is the same as my non-Vistana timeshare week. Has anyone had to deal with this issue in the past?

Which resort? Do you have a fixed check in day or do you need to call? If the check in day isn't fixed then make sure you log on to try to get the check in day you want. Also was your week sold as an event week or simply a fixed week? Usually if it is sold as an event week it is adjusted automatically, a plain old fixed week not and sometimes it may miss the holiday.

They said Saturday checkin with fixed week 7.
You are correct - was it sold as an Event Week or straight-up Week 7 (Sat checkin)? If week 7 - well...
every so often the Calendar just happens to fall this way.

This should be known prior to purchasing if important.

You should check the deed and CC&R's. Sometimes "week 7" is defined as the week including Presidents' Day. Similar definitions will sometimes exist for week 27 for the Fourth of July, week 47 for Thanksgiving, week 51 for Christmas, and week 52 for New Years so people's expectations are met. This will be resort-specific.

Checked my CC&Rs. Its a fixed week 7 with Sat check-in, not an event week. Oh well, I recall that I vaguely knew this - its good for me most years, just not in 2022. The resort is WRF. If I have Westin take care of the rental, what is their take of the rental income? Is the rental income pooled and shared across all the owners who rented their weeks for the season? Or does Westin track whether your specific week is rented for a specific price?

Westin will not look after the rental, they do not offer that yet for timeshares. You will have to use a rental site, like the TUG board, or RedWeek.

It may be possible to convert your fixed week 7 to SOs, which would theoretically allow you to book any other week at the 8 month window. However, President's week at a ski resort may be an impossible exchange.

Yup, your best bet may be to rent it on your own and then use those proceeds to rent the week of your choice.
