We went to a Westgate timeshare presentation yesterday. One of the things they talked about was weekly vacation rentals at $229/week and that even includes Disney resorts. We didn't ask a whole lot of questions, because we knew we weren't going to buy anything. But can someone comment about this?

This is most likely INterval International Getaways and/or Accommodation Certificates. THe prices aren't usually that low except for less desirable resorts. They never include Disney, or at least not that I have ever seen. You can do this by buying into any resort that is affiliated with Interval International. That means AVOID Westgate. They are awful. Best to buy resale anywhere else but Westgate.

Disney’s deal with Interval states that DVC units will not be used for Getaways…I have seen disney Vero Beach on an Accommodations certificate…

Hate to say it but if you’re looking for Disney DVC you may want to just get DVC…If anywhere close to disney is fine than really check into systems other than Westgate that meet your needs. Honestly I wish Westgate treated owners better- they are one of the few pet friendly resorts with lots of locations.
