9 days ago I sat through a Westgate Timeshare presentation to get discounted tickets to Universal. I did the same thing last year and got discounted tickets to Disney.

I tried to go straight to the gift store and pretend we went through the presentation, but they are a bit more sophisticated and computerized to prevent this. Last year they were miserable and I said no all the way through the presentation. This year they were not so miserable and when I said no the first 2 times the 3rd manager offered me the 1 week deal for $995 to use within the next 35 months. This also included 18 months of Interval International membership. It also allowed you to buy discount tickets when at their resort while using the 1 week... It didn't seem like a terrible deal so I put $200 down on this deal... They made me sign a contract for the 1 week deal and mention that they lock me into a price for a 2 bedroom, but it states this is not a promise to buy just locking the price down in case I wish to buy (which of course I wouldn't).

I am just nervous because it is Westgate and tomorrow is my last day to rescind. Is anyone familiar with the situation I am in. Reading the convoluted contract it seems like they are not trying to screw me into the buying the 2 bedroom... I am just nervous because it is Westgate. I could probably rent a place on TUG for cheaper the more I think about it! I am probably just going to rescind, but if anyone would like to give me their input it would be appreciated.

Also, I paid for this on Monday 13th. I am thinking day 10 is Wednesday the 23rd. My wife is saying you include the 13th which would make the 22nd the 10th day!!!
Thanks!

10 days from contract signing. And I can't say 100%, but I'm inclined to agree with your wife. Anyway, $1K isn't a horrible ripoff if you are able to use the week. Just as long as there isn't a ninja 2BR deed purchase buried in that contract.

Location
Toronto area, great white north
Rescind.

You can probably rent for about the same cost and save yourself the torture of another couple of rounds with the sales weasels.
