I’ve seen the other post about westgate resales and know generally people don’t like the corporation. We enjoy their smoky mountain resort. I’ve seen some resales and understand that if bought resale they really are only worth the week they are deeded for.

the part I’m confused on is if the booking window drops to sixty days with the resale is there ever going to be any availability to actually book the deeded week? Take for example buying a westgate reslae deeded to week 26. If you can only book 60 days ahead most likely there won’t be much left. So what happens? Anyone have experience with this?

Some of the Wastegate properties have deeded fixed weeks, and some of their properties have deeded floating weeks (deeded for inventory purposes only).

Because of the way they treat the resale buyer I would not recommend buying any Wastegate property. However, if you do buy there then be sure you are buying a deeded FIXED week. They can not tamper with a deeded fixed week and you will always know when your reservation is waiting for you every year (and you won't have to experience reservation hassles).

I have no idea whether their Smokey Mountain Resort are fixed or floating weeks (or a combination of both). Tread carefully!

I do not own any Wastegate Property.

Sadly many here have never bought resale Westgate so we have a hard time really verifying anything with first hand experience. I hear they also charge resort fees, but no one I know has traded in and can confirm. I have spoke to others that bought getaways and weren't charged resort fees, but they were also Westgate owners so it is hard to figure these things out.
