We have owned week 52 for many years and every few years, like in 2016, there is a week 53. Our contract clearly states that, when this happens, we get week 53 as well for no additional cost as long as we pay for week 52 (which I have done). Because it happens infrequently, there is usually a management change over in between occurrences and they are not familiar with the situation and I need to refer them to the contract verbiage.

Everyone now agrees that I am entitled to the week but when I tried to deposit it with RCI it got rejected. When I called the manager, she admitted that they do not know how to handle week 53 deposits in their system, but they are trying to figure it out. Our resort is affiliated with Wyndham but I don't think it is a Wyndham issue. I know it is not an RCI issue, because they recognize the week on my account, but the resort could not confirm that I had paid my maintenance fees (which I don't owe). Has anyone else run into this problem?

If the resort is managed by Wyndham, do YOU pay your MFs via www.wyndhamhamvacationresorts.com/fwpayments?

Trust me .. what USED to happen with FW and usage has become just another week to collect money on ... in Wyndham world.

My one Wyndham association collects the extra years MF a little each year instead of billing for 2 years. The other wants the 2nd MF to USE Week 53 in that year. The 3rd resort .. don't know but need to ASK.

My independent resort USED to give week 52 owners the week to use - who knows WHAT 2016 brings ...

Thanks Linda. I paid my maintenance through the resort but the confirmation came from the Wyndham system. The resort is semi-independent with it's own HOA but they are affiliated somehow. The resort management is not really disputing my ownership of week 53, they just don't know how to deal with it. From what you are saying, even within Wyndham is can be handled differently. I suppose it depends on how the contract is written.
