Website Assistance... Please ?

I designed a VERY BASIC website (using "Google Pages") for our upcoming Class Reunion.

I attached a website "gadget" that counts down the number of days before the Reunion.

I'd also like to attach the "gadget" that counts the number of "hits" the website gets.

Where ole where might I locate such a gadget ?
And... would it be easy to plug it into a "Google Pages" website ?

I checked out several web-counters.
Found really good ones.

But... they all require the insertion of HTML codes.
And "Google Pages" does NOT accept HTML.

Like I mentioned earlier... it's a very BASIC Web Host.

They include many "gadgets" but... no "Hit Counter"
