Now I'm craving a salad and it's only 8:30 AM.

A few new choices to try. IMO we prefer Bernstein's Italian and also use that on Caesar salad because it has an anchovy flavor. I would have liked to have seen that tested. We usually go for the non-fat/lowfat versions of the creamy dressings.

Many of these are perennial favorites at our house. There were a couple that will warrant more testing. We eat a lot of salads. :)

I never heard of Blackberry Poppyseed. I'll have to give it a try.

The value of this testing is somewhat limited because each category was simply evaluated by one staffer and that person's family. So if yor family regularly eats lots of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing that has set in your mind what a ranch dressing should taste like,..so not surprisingly it wins the “blind” test.

Despite that, it was interesting to see some of the varieties and brands I haven't tried. It was a reminder that it’s worth experimenting a bit more to see if there's a dressing we might like more than the ones I buy out of habit.

I agree that the blackberry dressing sounds good. And we like Kraft's Zesty Italian dressing so will have to try the Kraft Tuscan one.

Dh makes our dressing. He uses olive oil and then some kind of flavored vinegar. They are always wonderful. The only dressing we buy is ranch.

Blue Cheese, called Roquefort by my parents who have never figured out that today's California waitstaff have no idea what they mean, was never something I would willingly eat. Then someone brought homemade blue cheese to a potluck about 20 years ago and my eyes were opened big time! I tend to buy varieties that are in the refrigerated section, like Marie's which came in second in the blue cheese category. Now I will get up and go to the fridge and throw away all the salad dressings that were "best by" last summer. I rarely make salad unless we have company!

Would have liked their pick on Asian dressings. We eat a lot of it...DH prefers the Kraft (I can't tolerate it) and I like Ken's. Our all time fave is Ken's Raspberry Walnut.

Luanne, you should try making your own ranch, too. My husband makes the ranch in our house; my daughter, the vinigarettes. ;) Once you've had homemade ranch you will never, ever go back (if you can help it!)
