We recently (May 12th) purchased a 4000 point timeshare from Sunterra for $12.000.00. Is this too much to spend and do you think I should recind my purchase?

Yes, and yes.

The very fact that you asked those questions is evidence that you should rescind until you are more comfortable with your purchase decision. If you wait, you won't have the option to change your mind.

Assuming you rescind, the same deal (or approximately the same deal) will be available at a later date, even though you might have heard some version of a "today only" speech. However, I'm betting that you'll make a much better decision than to keep or sign up again for this deal.

You'll get a lot of advice here suggesting that you take your time, read what's on this site and eventually buy resale rather than from the developer. It's all good advice!

Yes, you should.

At ebay, you spend about 2k for 4000 points Florida Trust.

I love Sunterra but you can save alot buying resale.

Congratulations for finding the collective wisdom of TUG in time. 4000 SunOptions is not enough to have fun, see the Sunterra forum by clicking the link below.

Rescind! Rescind! Rescind!

Do it right away. Follow all instructions in your contract to the letter. Make sure you send the letter using a method that gets you a signed confirmation receipt. Fax the letter, too, while you're at it.

If you later decide that you really do want thsi deal (which is unlikely), it will almost certainly still be available.

what is the time frame that you can recind. We bought about 4 months ago and have not used any points. It seems that all of what our salesman told me has hidden non truths to them. Restrictions ect. Can I get out of this contract at this point?
Brent
7,000 points around $13,000 ish I would have to look.

I'd guess you are about 3 months, 3 weeks and a couple of days too late to rescind. At this point, you probably should be doing some research here to figure how to maximize your ability to use/exchange/rent what you own.

Good Luck!
