We Made it to Oahu for Kims Hip Replacement Surgery

I feel Kim and slip are both ready to return to the peace of Molokai.

The walking trekking stick is an outstanding suggestion and will give Kim more balance. IMHO.

Also, slip, please ask your physicians for a handicapped placard form for your automobile.

Yes, Kim did get a Handicapped Placard about a month ago. 🤙🏻

You are correct, we are both about ready to head home to our quiet Molokai. Kim decided to head home and forgo our August vacation that we planned a long time ago. We are going back on August 16th. 🤙🏻

She's doing great and she's all dressed to go to the Doctor for her x-ray and bandage removal. She talked to the Doctor and therapists and they decided she can be discharged on Saturday. So she will have a whole week to enjoy at The Imperial here in Waikiki.

She practiced on stairs today and the therapist said she should be good to do the stairs at home on Molokai.

You can see her goal on the White board. Lol

Excellent news!

That's SUPER! They really push patients post surgery. It pays off in more mobility sooner. We couldn't be happier for both of you.

Slip. I admire you candidness regarding you Healthcare and issues regarding your DW Kim. Sounds like you're taking great care. Looks like she well on her way to a full recovery.

Kind of a disappointing day. She had nothing on her schedule. Maybe because she had a really busy schedule yesterday.

We got to sit outside for four hours though. It was a beautiful day for it and she didn't have any pain medication today so she was alert and talkative.

She should have a busy schedule tomorrow so I am staying at the condo. I will have to go through three hours of training on Friday afternoon. Then hopefully, we will get a time for her discharge in Saturday.

She can't wait to get to the Imperial and get back to a somewhat normal schedule. She's looking forward to going to the Liliha Bakery that is on the Beachwalk. She said she wants to walk over there with her walker. 🤙🏻

I just got a call from the Rehab Hospital. I have to go in for my training tomorrow at 12:30. Then she will be discharged on Saturday at 11am.

So she will get to leave nice and early and she'll be able to get to The Imperial and get into a routine.

I know she would like to leave tomorrow but I told her tomorrow you can say I go home tomorrow. She had a busy schedule for rehab today and it will probably will be the same on Friday.

Saturday she will probably just have a shower and get breakfast. Saturday will be a good day. 🤙🏻

She can't wait to get to the Imperial

We like the Imperial. I never really figured out what the tiny tub next to the toilet was. My guess was a foot washer and I hope I'm right. If its a bidet it comes in handy to rinse a sandy foot, lol.

I only remember the tiny tubs at The Maui Schooner. I've never seen them at the Imperial.

My wife and I love The Imperial. It's close to everything so it's really convenient. 🤙🏻

Kim did get discharged!! We made it back to The Imperial at about 12:45pm. She did have some therapy in the morning so she was tired when we got here. She sat in the wheelchair for a bit and then we ordered a Magoo's Pizza. Our favorite on Oahu.

After that she had some pain with her hip so she took a pill and laid down on the bed at 5pm. She didn't wake up until 1am so she was tired too.

She said she slept so much better than in the hospital so that was good. She'll stay up for an hour or two and then head back to bed for a bit to get her sleep hours back on track.

Today we will head up to the Owners lounge and I'll get some pictures up there. 🤙🏻

Hospitals are always hard places to sleep. Glad she's out and hope she keeps making good progress.

My Wifey Baby is out and about today. We walked down for a Gourmet Breakfast at the fine dining establishment, Dennys. Lol
There's a Dennys connected to The Imperial.

Then we went up to the 26th floor owners lounge at The Imperial. It's a really nice lounge overlooking the Ocean. Kim is doing really well with her walker and has only used the wheelchair for a place to sit today. 🤙🏻

Scared me a bit when I saw all those bars. But the view is beautiful.

Lol, we were sitting so thise pictures are through the railing. 🤙🏻

She's coming along. All she has left for today are her exercises. 🤙🏻
I got a picture of Kims tattoo while she was enjoying the sun. That has held up well for being over ten years old.

One place Kim wanted to go to while we were here was Liliha Bakery. So we walked over from the Imperil.

Monday is a busy day on Beachfwalk. JoJa was there selling the SmashBurgers and the line went all the way up to the corner on Kalakaua.

Kim had her favorite Oxtail Soup and I had The Miso Butterfish. They were both excellent. We went to the Bakery side and got some treats for breakfast tomorrow.

After that we stayed on the second floor and Kim got to People watch for quite a while. After being in the hospital so long so loved being outside and seeing all the action.
