I don't know if you have seen the movie written by Ethan Cohen (Raising Arizona, Fargo ...) and Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, King of the Hill ...), but the more I read today's stories the more I wonder if Cohen and Judge nailed it right on.

In the pursuit of inclusiveness, they are diluting the language to make the message incomprehensible and inaccurate.

Actually they were over-estimating the intelligence. They can't even count to three. . . .

I read this, and I read the links it referenced. The real news here is that the Canadian Cancer Society has recommended that transgender men should talk to their doctor about getting screened for cervical cancer. I agree. The Daily Mail and other tabloids like it publish rage-bait. Sensationalist journalism at work here baiting us starting with calling the agency woke and implying that they had to apologize for using the word cervix.

It wasn't even so much an apology from the CCS as it was more of acknowledgement that words matter, and it was at the very end of their informative webpage. They said the word cervix many times, so I don't think there was any dilution of the message. There were no outraged trans people demanding an apology from anyone. The people who were outraged about the article were transphobic (and I'm so disappointed that a bunch of them were probably Canadian).

I think that it is an important message. I find the terminology ridiculous.

Front Hole?!?!?! Which one? ... Mouth? Nostril? Urethra? - Really?

Don't forget Ears or I suppose they would be Side Holes. Is a navel a "Former Front Hole"?

If i have my terms right, I believe a transgender man was born female, but now lives as a man. So i suppose screening for cervical cancer more sense..

Even in the archive link, it says cervix? I think the daily mail made up this rage bait. Generally we should look and prefer less inflammatory (and in this case seeming making up a story) sources.

I've watched the movie a few times, they certainly got the click bait part right. When they show television screens the show is in a center window with ads all around the perimeter, it's like trying to read these click bait stories.

Correct. It is a serious health warning. It is just ridiculous that a vocal minority tries to redefine terminology to push an agenda. The CCS should have just presented the facts without the sugar coated disclaimer.

Maybe we should now call cancer "angry cells" because they are misunderstood. Sheesh

I think this is the part I am not seeing when I read the original webpage from the Cancer Society. I don't think there was a vocal minority trying to redefine terminology. I'm certainly not going to start calling it a front hole or angry cells some other thing, that's ridiculous. My doctor wouldn't even know what I was talking about, lol. But really, I don't even see this as an agenda being pushed. All I see it is journalist trying to create a story out of nothing, getting people all worked up to make it look there is some trans agenda that we should be up in arms about. If there is an agenda, what exactly is it?

I would have never read that page had it not been pointed out here. As I am not a Trans person, I would have never even seen this controversial webpage. It surprises me that a UK tabloid would care about this at all.

That was my original point. CCS should have just stuck to the facts.
