I was reading some of the suggested names to replace Redskins. I kind of like Warriors best because it kind of sounds right with both Washington and Warriors starting with w.

Warriors seems to carry the same impression. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. I didn't love any names on the list.

My daughter used to live in DC and is definitely not a sports fan. She suggested a name on one of the DC facebook groups that was fairly well received. It even allows everyone to keep their "skins" gear - and it is available.

The Potato Skins :p

There MIGHT be something I care less about than this, but right now I can't think of what it might be.

right, but some of us have all this gear with the Redskins logo .... (admittedly mostly inherited from my parents )
Can I still wear it?
Will I be tarred and feathered?

After the changeover, I can just visualize the amount of formerly expensive licensed team ware that will go to charity stores.

Hold on to it for at least 10 years and then put it for sale on Ebay.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

My suspicion is that there will be controversy and criticism of a new name for the team.

Are their any red hawks birds?

There use to be a Miami Redskins and they changed their name to Red Hawks.

Maybe if Washington took skins off and just went as the Washington Red's no one would complain ? Or would that have a political connotation I wonder ?

They could change to the Pigskins but this might get a police potest.

Jason Gay of The Wall Street Journal keeps pushing the “Washington Sadness Machine”

I think “Washington Sloths“ or “Washington Snails” would be appropriate since nothing seems to get done in DC.

Cheers
