When I called and spoke with a Wyndham owner care relations agent, I was told that they did some sort of account review. I don't know if it was computer auto generated or not? They have an IT department doing this now. No notification was given to me (either before or after) including any email correspondence.
I have not done any Wyndham bookings or cancelations in over 2 months. I have only confirmed an RCI reservation.
I was so worried when I saw most of my leftover 2016 points vanish. In the past, (when there were canceled points) I did a lot of cancel and rebooks. I used to borrow my points from future use years too. I have not used the points credit pool either.
Someone at Wyndham, (part of their IT team) took out my points (there were notes). The owner care relations agent did an audit of my account (because of the discrepancy). My points were all restored. Thank goodness.
I really don't understand the reason for my account being targeted? I have read the importance of doing screen shots of point charts and I have done this. I also do a screen shot of all of the reservations in my account. I had the proof to back up my discrepancy call. I told the Wyndham agent that I had proof that my points were missing. I was told by that Wyndham agent that I didn't need to provide that. The Wyndham agent did an account review (for me) and determined that I was right.
My points are returned. I am so relieved and I hope this never happens again. Not to me, or anyone else.
Please check your points regularly and make sure your records are the same as Wyndham has for you. This should not be happening ever.
