Heads up to anyone looking to buy at Sheraton Desert Oasis. :annoyed:

ttimeshare is offering what looks like a Deluxe 1BR, 1-52, annual at SDO, Unit 1048. (eBay Item number: 270302521526) It is not the larger unit. 1048 is the smaller standard side of the lockoff.

How do I know? I bought it a few days ago and discovered the actual size only after I got a copy of the deed. (This is a Uri Fried deal) Now, they did promptly refund my money with an apology. But I learned a valuable lesson about asking to see the deed before bidding.

In the new ad, the seller has just cut and pasted in a smaller square footage number, but left the remaining description of a deluxe unit. I emailed him that it was wrong again. We'll see if he changes it.

There is also another SDO on eBay that is a 2br LO 1-52 that lists a Mf of $480ish. This is obviously wrong since MFs are about $1000 now for the 2br.

Camster, I think you're assuming that the seller cares about accuracy which is probably not a good assumption. I think you almost need to assume that the TS descriptions on Ebay are wrong unless proven otherwise. I always call the resort directly and ask them what the unit number is and what the floating season is for the week on the deed. Even doing this, I've hit one seller where this didn't work because they gave me the wrong week number and didn't discover this until I did a title search to be sure that the seller did in fact own the week they were conveying. It's not all bad though, because sometimes the inaccurate info on the listing can work in your favor if they advertise it as the small side and it's really the large side or a better floating week than they advertised.

Sloppy Cut & Paste

Right... there's a lot of slopping editing in those ads. I'm just looking for the one that gets me a Kierland 2BR lockoff for the price of a small 1BR biennial at Desert Oasis. :whoopie:
