We are renting for a week(Aug 8-14) in the timeshare condos and want to extend 4 days. I know we can stay at the Frenchman's hotel, but want to add 4 nights Aug 15,16,17 to our stay in the condos. So I guess we are wondering if we might buy points that would allow us to rent for 4 days in the condo's. Or are the timeshare condo's only avail by the week?

You could ask about this over on the Marriott board. It would be possible to rent Marriott Destinations Club points where the owner would make a reservation for you. However, it all depends on availability. They would need to confirm the dates are even available for you. Another option is to rent by the night on Marriott.com. Probably pretty steep in price for a 2BR unit.
