We have had our Cuisinart single Belgian waffle maker for at least 12 years and use it monthly. I’d highly recommend it. It’s the hotel-style flip round waffle maker, and works great. Easy to clean as long as you don’t overfill towards the back - even the teenagers have learned how to avoid that.

I have an All Clad small round one. I had a 2 square one for decades that worked well, but finally died so I bought a less expensive one that died after a couple years; they don't make them like they used to.
All Clad is the primo cookware that I always lusted after but couldn't afford. Several years back, somebody on tug introduced me to the All Clad seconds sales. They have sales about every 3 months and one is now on for another 2 days. Th deals aren't as god as they were a year ago, but still not bad. They gather up your order until the end of the sale and then ship everything you order at once. https://homeandcooksales.com. You have to give them your email so I use the one I use for business. The small regular waffle iron is $89.99 and the larger 4 square Belgian is $109.99.

I know America's Test Kitchen had this one as their top pick.

We have a similar, but only single waffle maker by Cuisinart and really like it. Though I would certainly like to get my hands on a vintage cast iron waffle maker some day. One I could find at a rummage sale, thrift store or flea market and clean up and make my own!

Crate and barrel has cuisinart one on sale for $59 free shipping. We have similar faberware one. I’d get the cusinart one. Love all of my cuisinart appliances.

I have a very old waffle maker, and I love it, but I wouldn't recommend the brand because it's just so old, 45 years old, and I am doubting the brand is as good today. Sometimes older products are just better. I do have a small waffle maker and was sorry I didn't buy the Dash that was recommended to me. I decided on a Mickey Mouse one, and it makes a belgian type waffle, and that doesn't work with my fuelings as well because it's just too thick and they don't cook on the inside.

I got the dash one. It is only 9.99 on Amazon. It is ok but really doesn’t crisp that is why I want to invest in a better one. I will use it for traveling. Try adding a egg white beated til it Peaks to your fuel. It will increase the volume to fill the Belgian and hopefully will thin it out and cook better.

My pots and pans are all clad and I love them. They are for life. Slowly I acquired my pieces from homegoods. I assume they are seconds too but were priced well.

I was looking at the all clad waffle maker. I had my eye on the 2 square but the great site you provided does not have it in stock. The 4 slice will just be too big even though priced great. The small regular might be where I end up but will research the other recommendations.

Wow, vintage cast iron. I see them on eBay. Seems like too much work for me.

A few years ago my mother gifted me the one I grew up with, which she inherited from her mother. The Frugal Gourmet (remember him?) had taught me to value those old waffle makers so I was thrilled. Works great!

It is a lot of work. After inheriting a couple vintage cast iron pans, cleaning, seasoning and using them for a few years they are by far the best pans ever and my goto pans for cooking just about everything.

It's definitely supposed to be healthier. I remember when I was severely anemic my doctor kept saying to use cast iron pans. A little of the iron apparently gets into the food.

I am leaning to all clad because of size. Being you owned both, if price wasn’t an issue, today would you buy the round one or two square? Why? Is the square much heavier then the round?

I have a vast amount of Amtrak points and will convert some to gift certificates to get this. It would take me years to use those points for train travel so might as well use some to get this.

Sorry @Panina , but I am tied up for the weekend........

Practicing your Houdini act?

Back OT - we have the cuisinart flipover style. I know I didn’t pay much for it from Kohls using a 30% discount and Kohls Cash. Works great and makes nice waffles, the secret to a good waffle is the mix IMO, most makers do a good job cooking.

I have a Caphalon No-Peek that I love. They don't have that one anymore, now they have this, which gets excellent reviews.

Also...my Caphalon waffle maker story. The No-Peek waffle maker chimes when the waffle is done (so you don't have to keep peeking, hence the name). After a few years, my chime stopped chiming.

I called Caphalon thinking they would just be like, "Look, lady, it's a five-year-old waffle maker, whaddya want?" On the contrary, the phone rep was more like "THIS IS TERRIBLE! We must fix this immediately!"

She sent me a mailing label, I sent my old waffle maker in, and they sent me a brand-new Caphalon No-Peek waffle maker. How's that for fantastic customer service?

For me, I have no need of the larger size so would stick with the small one. I also don't like large things taking up cupboard or counter space. In addition, the small one is something I can take on trips, though it is heavier than others. I think it boils down to how many you are cooking for and how impatient they are.

Here's a photo of what it looks like on the inside. It also has 2 little locking tabs to keep it from opening while carrying. When I got it, it took me awhile to figure out I had to move those tabs to unlock it.

Q :Krusteaz.

Anyone have a favorite recipe for delicious perfect every time homemade waffles

Preheat waffle iron. Beat eggs in large bowl with hand beater until fluffy. Beat in flour, milk, vegetable oil, sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla, just until smooth. Spray preheated waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Pour mix onto hot waffle iron.

Cook until golden brown. Then Serve with your favorite fruit and whipped topping

Patti gave me a Cuisinart Double Belgian Waffle Maker for Christmas. It is a flip one. Most of the ones I played with in stores over the years were too flimsy. This one is really sturdy. It has 6 Setting Browning Control so you can control how done the waffles get. It is Model WAF-F20.

My recipe: as with most of my recipes, this started as something else and I revised it. The original was a buckwheat waffle recipe from 1971, but I never had the buckwheat or wheat germ it called for and I thought it used too many eggs. Then I added some apples and cinnamon...
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1T brown sugar
1 tsp (or so) cinnamon
1/2 tsp (or so) nutmeg

peel and slice up one apple into dry ingredients.

Mix together: 2 eggs, 1/4 c melted butter or oil. Add 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 (or more) cups milk. This makes a thick batter so add a little more milk if desired. The apple also seems to soak up more milk.

Add wet to dry and mix just enough to combine. Don't over mix (the death knell of any pancake or waffle recipe).

I eat these without any butter or syrup; kind of like healthy apple fritters hot off the waffle iron.

I buy the big box of frozen waffles from costco. I love waffles but not enough to make them when I want one. Too big of a mess.
