About two months ago we cancelled a VRBO. We had until Aug 1 2020 for the 100% refund so we were well within this time. I haven't heard from the owner but did get an inquiry from VRBO. I let VRBO know we haven't seen the refund yet.

My question is who is responsible for the refund ?

Thanks

Bill

I just spoke with the vbro rental I had cancelled. He says he accepted my cancellation on the day it came in and will let vbro know. We will see.

A year or so ago we cancelled; also way inside the cancellation window & we were returned our deposit/money very quickly to our credit card. I contacted the owner to cancel....the owner was actually kind of a management company for a few units in the complex (not sure if the money was held & returned from VRBO or the company). It used to be you dealt with real "owners" (and I kind of liked that better)....it's the first time in 15 years we have ever cancelled (insurance used to be voluntary and we never took advantage). Prices used to be a lot cheaper at VRBO and you could "talk" with real owners to get a good understanding of the property and surrounding area....maybe you had to be more diligent in selecting properties with no guarantees but we honestly never had a problem in 15 years.......(we travel a couple times a year....VRBO, timeshares we rent from others (TUG, Redweek), Airbnb, & Booking) They all seem to have a little different angle......

I have cancelled reservations made through VRBO a few times. The cancellation policy, I believe, is set by the owner of the property. In all cases VTBO responded, but it was the owner who did the refund, and in all cases it was done promptly.
