Maybe one silver lining of COVID-19 will be that duvet covers and bedspreads finally actually get cleaned between guests… :)

It's all marketing spin to make you feel good. We are currently at a Vistana property and I see nothing different in the way of cleaning. Some staff wearing masks, some not. Some wearing them half on half off. There is a big sign in the lobby about the new protocols, but I don't really see much of a difference. There isn't someone walking around constantly with a spray bottle and cloth.

I'm glad they're at least trying to make a difference. If I was traveling anytime soon I would likely clean the unit myself. I posted elsewhere on TUG (I think) that I think hotels/resorts should offer cleaning supplies (disinfectant spray and wipes) in every unit so if we want to clean ourselves we can more easily.

One thing that we saw constantly at WKV a couple weeks ago was someone sanitizing the lounge chairs after the guest left. Marriott’s Canyon Villas in Phoenix did the same thing.

There was no evidence of anything special in the unit and even though we trusted that they sanitized the unit we cleaned everything we thought we would touch with wipes and spray that we brought just as a precaution. We just passed 14 days since we left and do not have any symptoms.

Best regards.

Mike
