Hi all

I am in Scottsdale at the Marriott Camelback Inn at a meeting and have some free time this afternoon - thought I would visit Westin Kierland

We own Maui and just traded for 1st time for St John next year. Looking at maybe trading our studio in Maui for a one bedroom in Kierland for winter break from NJ Maybe Jan, Feb, March or April

Can we trade the Maui studio for one BR Kierland in winter? through the Starwood timeshare system, not II

I looked online at the floorplans and was surprised that the units seem to be 2 one bedroom units put together, not a lock off studio and bigger one bedroom like our hawaii timeshares. My husband isn't here so won't be able to take an official 'tour', just hoping to see some of the units, area, etc

Thanks for any info

Through Starwood, you must use Staroptions for the trade.

The Maui studio is worth 67,100 Staroptions.

The Staroptions required at WKV vary, depending on the season:

Small one bedroom:
Plat Plus - 67,100
Gold Plus - 37,000
Gold - 25,800

Large one bedroom:
Plat Plus - 81,000
Gold Plus - 44,000
Gold - 30,500

2 bedroom
Plat Plus - 148,100
Gold Plus - 81,000
Gold - 56,300

In Starwood Owner Resources, at the top of the forum, there is a Staroptions chart that you can download for all the details and dates.

Just go to the concierge desk at WKV and tell them that you are a Starwood owner and they will tell you the room number of the model. You will be able to just walk over, let yourself in and look around the 2 br model. We did this a few months ago at WKV and SDO. The concierge at both resorts were more than happy to accommodate us without any pressure to speak to a salesperson.

thanks for your responses
went over to Kierland and went through the 2 BR unit. Very nice, nicer than Maui as I like some color. Liked the fireplace and really liked the balconeys and furnishings.

I thought it would be closer to the westin hotel and was disappointed in the area with street of all condos. Doesn't have that resort feeling but liked the plantings and seating areas on the 'limited' grounds

Would be a nice place to spend some time in the winter

I was at WKV last week for a couple days, it's been over a year since my last visit. It was nice to see that they refurbished the units (carpets and most of the furniture), it was overdue.

Been there 10 months ago.
WKV is in very convenient location, Kierland Commons is close and great for shopping and dining.
If you want to use studio side staroption, you will get 67100 SO. It is equal to platinum (winter/spring) smaller 1BR at WKV.
