I am new to Wyndham too. I did a request online in August. It never showed up in RCI. I did not bother to call yet. I'd like to find out too what others experience.

Check your point status, if it is changed, you need to call. If not, I will call customer support in 2 weeks to figure out what happen. It is 3 month, and your points will be expired.

This is an old old issue.

You wouldn't believe how old this issue is. Both RCI and Fairfield at the time promised that it was a situation that would be rectified with system upgrades. As you have experienced, it has not ben rectified.

In the old Ask RCI archives you can see some of the earlier discussions:

Confused about FF Point deposits
hostelling - November 19, 2005

Online Fairfield/WVO weeks
EAM - December 20, 2006

The SAME situation exists for RVC (Raintree Vacation Club) owners:

RCI searches for RVC members
bjasrose - March 12, 2006

TUG upgraded their forums back in 2005, if they were still available you could see this discussion going back many more years.

I don't know what the current best practice is but it use to be recommended that you get at least one visible deposit (if you can) and search online with that. Then, when you found an exchange you could call RCI and have them use one of your invisible/offline deposits to make the exchange, if it had the same trading power.

Good Luck with carrying this battle for actual customer service forward!

Thanks for the info, just requested a visible deposit yesterday. I'll post what the outcome of that is.

Has any one got their problems resolved? I called Wyndham today since my points are about to expire. I don't think my points were taken out of my account. The lady I spoke with insisted that the points were taken and deposit did happen. She tried to call RCI for me. But RCI hold time was way too long. (I tried myself). Should I just forget about getting a visible week and make another deposit online?

I would have to pay another $30. But it seems to be the easiest way now. I am also a little worried about online deposit. If I don't request visible deposit this time, should I expect any problem with online deposit? Now deposit over the phone cost $59.
