FYI I had a virtual 90min ownes update yesterday. Wife and I sat through a 90 min info session and we opted for the $250 debit card.
It was a painless soft sell that didn't even last 90 min especially after I answered all the "getting to know your travel needs" questions with "We own WKORV, we go every year, we don't trade, we don't stay in hotels, we don't do weekend get aways, we don't add extra nights to our stays, we don't travel..........
The sales person said we could deposit our star options into the Bonvoy system to take advantage of so many other properties but the catch was you couldn't see what was available until after your transferred your star options, Well I balked at the ridiculousness of that so the sales person offered the hybrid plan where we add 1000 bonvoy points to what we already have and we can book hotels and such in the Bonvoy/Mariott system and be able to see availability before transferring options. The cost? 17k and $850 a year maintenance fee. Of course I said no thank you so the said, "but wait! we have incentives like points." I said no thanks, we don't travel and it ended there with my wife and I planning a nice dinner and drinks out on the town. By the way I could have gotten some Bonvoy points but chose the cash instead.
Sincerely
