When traveling to and from Massanutten Resort along Interstate 81 in Virginia there are so many amazing places to stop and learn about the history of this region. Any suggestions on places to stop and visit.

Claytor Lake named for W. Graham Claytor Sr 1886-1971 in Pulaski County, Virginia in the New River Valley of southwestern Virginia was created for the Appalachian Power County Hydroelectric Project. Construction of the dam that formed Claytor Lake began in 1937 and was completed in 1939.

I can't recall the name, but we found an amazing book outlet not too far from the resort and bought lots of kids books.

We recently spent an afternoon at Belle Grove Plantation in Middletown, VA that was pretty interesting.
When I was on a tour at Belle Grove, which did horse breeding, the tour guide was talking about one of the famous Horse Sires. It was so mean that it could take the "sweet out of pie".
