I like the car analogy. The Grand Luxxe is like a 5+ star resort. The Grand Bliss is like 4.5. It is also very nice. The Grand Mayan is about 4 stars. On par with Westin or Marriott. I have stayed in all 3 and had good experiences in all of them. I have never stayed in a Mayan Palace and probably would not.

You can scroll through the pages on the Vidanta website to see the differences. Here's the link to the Rooms & Suites portion for the Grand Luxxe in NV. The other ones are simple to find by poking around on the web site.

You can exchange into Grand Luxxe, Grand Bliss, Grand Mayan, Bliss, and Mayan Palace through either II or RCI. Not all levels exist in all of the locations. You can exchange into the Grand Luxxe Residence levels through either the platinum level in RCI (so long as you are not considered a second or third class individual by Vidanta for having been silly enough to have purchased at any level with them) or through ThirdHome (same limitation applies, though you can exchange into a level equal to or lower than what you own. Nice incentive system guys!).

There are some additional differences in what portions of the resort complex (e.g., pools and beach areas) that you can use based on where you are staying. That is to say that if you are in Grand Luxxe you can use the Grand Luxxe pools and any lower tier ones - the tiers are in the order I listed in the prior paragraph.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
RCI currently has a 1 in 4 rule and no guest certs allowed.

What I would like is how to judge the different Grand Luxxe options. Are some considered higher than others or are they just about location and configuration?
Spa, Suite, Loft, Celebrate loft, Celebrate suite, residence, are there others too?

There is a steep resort fee you will need to pay if you swap in through a timeshare exchange like RCI or II.

I was looking at the Grand Luxxe Jungle suite...some say it is far from beaches and pools...any info on that?

I think it depends on what size unit you have and where you go. I have heard the 2 Bedroom resort fee can be $950 plus depending on where you go. I think the resort fee depends on the size of your unit and where you go.

The Grand Luxxe Jungle Suites are in the upper right corner behind the Bliss buildings (#9). They've been there for several years but Vidanta hasn't updated the map on the website. They're a bit of a walk away from the beach and pools, but it's manageable for us and there are shuttles available. The Jungala waterpark is right next to them but there's a charge to use it.

Thanks for the info. Are shuttles available all the time? Are they just golf carts?

They were all the times we wanted them, though we weren't staying out late. Mostly golf carts, though most are longer or connected ones, but that type.

We are going to Grand Luxxe in May through II. Our unit is MVILLA. Does anyone know what type of room and what building it is?

I'm staying in an MSUITE right now, 2BR. Seems to be several different 2BR. I would say the resort is not comparable to Marriott (which I own and love), I would say it's closer to a Ritz Residence Club. The breadth of things to do here makes it an outstanding place. Even better once Vidanta world opens. Very very pleased. We have access at Grand Luxxe to everything, except residence, and building 5 top floor pool. Might have been one more thing don't recall.

The shuttles run at any time. They are like long golf carts, they fit about 8 people across 4 rows counting the back. The resort fee was fine for us. We got ~$1000 or the $1950 back from the presentation. And while they advertised $950/week in 2BR, they charged it in pesos and $864 hit my credit card!

The only slightly annoying thing is the PGA tour is here right now and a few places are closed to us normal folks. Walked over to building 5 to the cafe/lounge there and wasn't allowed in as I didn't have PGA card. I get it though.

I'd be curious to hear from those who have been to other Vidanta locations, not Nuevo Vallarta, as to how those compare to Nuevo Vidanta. I presume the other locations are not as large and don't have as much stuff? Same quality?

Riviera Maya Vidanta is also quite large, but not as large as Nuevo Vallarta. Acapulco is somewhat smaller than either. Marina Puerto Vallarta is small, as is Mazetlan Vidanta. Never been to Puerto Peñasco, but probably close to the size of Acapulco Vidanta. Only Riviera Maya and Nuevo Vallarta have Grand Luxxe and Grand Bliss as far as I remember.

I am arriving this weekend and I have the same room code as you. Can you elaborate on what you said here? You got back exactly what for the presentation and $950/$864? I am a little confused on all these dollar amounts. I do have to pay the $950USD resort fee, but I am looking to participate in the presentation to lower it as much as possible. Any info to get this done helps! Thanks.

The resort fee is $950 for a 2 br exchange through RCI. But apparently the resort is charging in pesos, and because of the favorable exchange rate, it came out to less than $950 for that tugger at checkout. I have heard that you can get up to $475 resort credit added to your folio for doing the TS tour. But keep in mind this doesn't offset your resort fee, it offsets your charges to your room, so you'll need to spend the $475 to get credit for it.

There are a lot of threads regarding Vidanta TS tours. You should look into those before doing one.

There are 20-30 restaurants on site and including bars and gift shop...I am sure I can clear $475 of charges in a weeks time. I don't see myself leaving the resort - maybe for one day/night.

Siesta was correct in his interpretation of what I said. So, charge the resort fee in pesos. We leave tomorrow.

Grand Luxxe is the Rolls Royce, Bliss the entry level BMW, and Grand Mayan the Kia 900. Actually Mayan Palace is the Kia 900. GM is Cadillac.
Is Estates a space shuttle?
