Does a two bedroom unit at VDP Flamingos in NV have a king in each bedroom or is there one king and two doubles? I'm getting conflicting information from II's info and the VDP website.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I believe the answer is "yes".

Or, to be more specific - some do, some don't ;)

The two bedroom units are comprised of a one bedroom unit plus a lockout unit (aka a studio unit). At VDP Flamingos (and other VDP properties) some of the studio units have a single king (typically also with a hide-away sofa bed) and others have two queens. The master bedrooms always have a single king.

Check out this link at the Villa Group VDP Flamingos site...click on the virtual tour link, then click on photos and you'll see pictures of the two different studio units. http://www.villagroupresorts.com/resorts/villa-del-palmar-flamingos/villa-suites/deluxe-studio

All of the one/two bedroom units also have a queen-sized murphy bed in the living area.

I don't know if it's possible to reserve a specific type of unit especially if you are booking through II. Most of the VDP Flamingos units are sold as floating unit inventory (there are some fixed weeks) so they typically don't allocate specific rooms until a few days before check-in.

FWIW

Safe travels.

First, the 2bd VdPFlamingoes is one of the nicest units I've ever been in: Stayed in a 2 bd last year and a 1bd just recently.

The 2b is actually a 1 bd (huge master: king, jacuzzi, shower, huge closet, 2 sinks , large balcony shared with living room; living room has a queen murphy, very comfy and a large dining table another full bath and a fully outfitted kitchen w/ washer dryer.) and a studio (it could be 2 doubles but I actually thought it was 2 queens, a mini fridge, coffee maker, stove top, it's own balcony, and bath.

....So the 2 bd is actually 3 full baths with 4 beds.

All of the two bedroom units at Flamingos are lock offs except the ocean front penthouses. The lock off can either have a queen and a couch or two double beds and is considered a studio unit. So you would have a one bed suite with a studio lock off that has a doorway between the two.

The penthouse has a master king bed and a second bedroom with two queens. This is not a lock off. It is a very spacious suite with a full wrap around deck that has a hot tub , barbque, sink, fridge and furniture.

Thanks for the info. I have booked the two bedroom at VDP NV and the confirmation says 1 king and 2 queen. This is what I was hoping for.

One more question....does the resort have a shuttle to/from the airport? If not, can anyone recommend a shuttle company?

We've been to VDP Flamingos several times - most recently in mid-November. You can book arrival transportation thru the resort for $18 per person one way. They only make reservations for arrival. They have contracted a private taxi company at the resort that will take you for departure. You can also use the public taxi's at the airport...not sure of rate. Also, if you make the trek across the pedestrian bridge to the "non-airport" taxi's the fare is cheaper. I tend to use the resort transportation as it makes the arrival process a bit more worry-free.

Also, be sure to check the maximum occupancy on your confirmation if you plan on more than six people including children. For the two bedrooms VDP will often state six even if you have a unit with the two queens which will actually accommodate eight with the murphy bed. If this is an II reservation the maximum will be listed on the confirmation. Best to avoid surprises on arrival.

Safe travels.

UVC VPA....points transferrable or not?

Does anyone know the updated answer to buying a VPA timeshare on the resale market? Are the points transferrable or not? I keep hearing conflicting answers. Does anyone have first-hand experience?

VPA memberships when transferred via a resale transfer as a Premier membership. Check out the new UVC bylaws listed on the UVC website on the HOA tab. It's very explicitly described there.

I had a 2200 pt resale transaction rejected for this reason last June...so they do enforce it.

Safe travels.

Just finished our "owners update" this morning at Villa del Arco. Two different representatives gave the same answer to the question of what happens to a VPA membership if you sell it. Reverts to Premier.

BBB....can you tell me how much a cab from airport to Villa del Arco for a group of 4? Do you get your own transportation or book it through UVC? Also, do you know if the shuttle service offered through UVC stops along the way for other people or would they only take our group? Also, how about back to the airport as well? Thanks....any info and advice would be appreciated.

I've always arranged via UVC. Never had a problem. I opt for ease of use rather than shopping for best deal and spending too much time playing concierge - let someone else worry about it. $36 round-trip per person. That would be $72 for four each way...cheaper than a taxi I believe. I've never had them stop at another resort on the way, but I guess there's that possibility. We have stopped next door at Villa del Palmar before getting to Villa del Arco. We just grab some cervesas at the bar at the airport to enjoy on the ride and chill. This week our driver stopped at a convenience store on the way as we drained our initial cervesas too quickly :)
