Vietnam government took action early in January 2020 and now they are ready to reopen their country. Personally, I looked at where clothes and furniture are made. I will purchase clothes and furniture made in Vietnam over China. IMHO.

I'd like details on this. I believe the virus to be real and accidental. If it is instead some worldwide master plan to terrorize and kill people off, trot out the proof, I'd like to see it.

Very smart people have warned for many years that there was an unknown pandemic disease lurking, and that preparation would save 100's or thousands of deaths. Preparation was dismantled in this country and not in others. What we are seeing is that those places that took the threat seriously and 'over-reacted' are suffering less sickness and death than those that ignored or downplayed the risk.

My takeaway from their approach is that an authoritarian government has more control over its people and has more latitude to exert control and control the public message during a crisis. I think one of the key points in the BBC article is that the Vietnamese population bought into the consistent messaging the government was providing.

In WW II most citizens bought into the USA governments message . The result was almost all citizens were willing
to live with rationing and other measures .

The draft into the military is a de facto giving up of your individual rights .

All society's and countries worldwide have to balance individual rights vs. the overall functioning of the community.

This is no different in a TIMESHARE ownership . As owners we own a small piece of a bigger entity .
If I were to suggest that because I own week 30 in a 2 bedroom - I should have the right to barbecue
on the unit’s kitchen floor - the HOA and other owner would likely suggest otherwise .

I have learned a lot reading TUG .

Believe whatever you want. I’m just a simple quiet USA citizen that is “awake”! I don’t cause problems or get involved physically in the issues, I just want to bring information to those “asleep at the wheel”.

I personally am tired over “G” overreach and certain people around the world into our private lives. Just follow the money and you will start to see the players. It’s not actually about the money for them, it’s the control.

If I go too much further in my comments, you and others will take it as conspiracy, political or however you want to label it.

I’m going to leave it at that and pray someday soon I’ll be able to get back to my few weeks on Kaua’i without any additional hoops to jump through beyond what was in place pre-virus.

Stop with the attacks against me, I’m entitled to express my views point certain things out just like everyone else has done in these forums!

My son has been living in Vietnam for about a year now. He loves it and decided not to come back to the US when things started shutting down (he worked in Las Vegas....so I think he made a good choice). He was teaching in a school for a little while outside of Hanoi before they closed; then headed to a beach town for a couple months....but they are opening back up and he got an apartment in the city now. He made me laugh when he said they hand out masks like napkins at the stores.
