Looking at a resale at Vero beach. I had DVC pre Covid lost in DIvorce looking at resale. Have family near Vero so we would use it. How is trading availability going?

I am okay with split stay but want to make sure we can use the points.

If you are going to WDW as well then, in my opinion, you'd be better off buying at WDW and trading into Vero.

Yes, the upfront cost at Vero is much lower but that's because the dues are $14/pt and also because of the 2042 expiration. You will pay more upfront for a WDW resort like BLT or Poly, but your annual dues will be 40%-45% less ($8/pt) and if you sell that in 17 years you will have substantial residual value while Vero will be worthless and useless/expired. Or you can keep those into the 2060s.

In particular to the trading issue, if you check the availability tables (average nights available over past few years when searching for 7 nights at 7 months out) you will see that Vero is a pretty easy trade at 7 months out for pretty much any time of year. Much less so with WDW.

Thanks, I am looking at BLT. Just thought about getting a tiny conract at Vero so I could play with II there is a near by place I am interested in seeing if it is available but I don't want to be locked into Hyatt, or so I have learned this week.

Buying DVC to trade into Interval is probably not the best idea - especially Vero. The exchange rate is pretty poor.

I would not buy VB unless you'll go there for all the points you own. There is not advantage to owning VB or any other specific DVC resort from an exchange standpoint. VB is not difficult to get during non peak times which is basically week 51 through 17 or so if you plan at least 7 months ahead. Fees are very high at VB and likely to get higher plus there is the possibility of a special assessment going forward. They haven't had one but threatened previously.

Don't buy Vero Beach. The maintenance fees are outrageous and only getting worse. It's going to be worthless before the contract expires, IMO.

Let me clarify, peak is weeks 51 through 17 and the rest is a lower season though still variable, esp during summer and holidays.

We stayed at Disney Vero Beach in 2010. We traded in thru RCI. It was nice. I agree that would be expensive to own there. We stayed in April the resort was full, but not overly crowded.

I am curious if you have a recommendation.

I figured we would getva studio or 1 bedroom most of the time so 150 points for a week didn't seem too bad.

Thanks
Trading DVC out at least for me is really been very difficult… I would not recommend it until there is absolute clarification of deposit dates and deadlines.

MS gave me some crazy deposit dates. I had contacted them 10 days into my 2024 UY only to find my points would have needed to have been deposited about 2 months prior.
I have contacted them via email about when I will need to deposit 2025 and crickets- automated response said 2 weeks for response it’s now 2 months…
I contacted the tug email for internal help and was referred back to Disney.

Thanks, we decided to put an offer in on a Hyatt Week in Kay West at a much lower rate. We love Disney, but need more flexibility.

Thanks everyone
