I will be at VCI for spring break with my family. This is our first time in the hotel zone (have stayed in Akumal before). Would like to know about shape of beach at VCI? I know waves aren't as strong, is it strong enough for boogie boarding? Is nearest boogie boading taking ferry to Isla Mujares? Where else is there?

Any other tips for teenagers at VCI? We love beach volleyball. Do we have to go to Royals for that? thanks

I do not think you can boogie board at VCI, but they do have sail boats there. If you want to boogie board, you could hop a shuttle to the tri-Royals and try it there. (Normally I would say the Sands too, but since the beach seems to be touch and go right now there, I would not recommend there.)

I am not sure about your other questions, as we have never stayed at VCI. However, you could check the Royals website for the activities at VCI.

There has been beach volleyball at VCI in past years.
I am not sure about boogie boarding out at the other Royals, esp. the Sands, as you may end up crashing into a seawall. Probably a better bet at the Tri-Royals, not the Sands.
