Yup. Rumor has it that it was developed in Twin Falls, of all places. Nothin' to it, just a more-or-less 50/50 mix of ketchup and mayonnaise to dip (or dredge) your french fries, or Tater Tots (another Idaho thing) or onion rings through.

Molokai has Fry Sauce. First time I had seen it. We do like it on fries and onion rings.

In Central Washington it's soda pop or pop. When someone says soda I think mixer like in Club Soda.

As to Iced Tea. Any time we go to Canada my wife can't order tea because it is the crap from a soda fountain. We make her cold brew tea at home. Just tea bags and a gallon of water left overnight.

In Canada growing up we had "The Pop Shop". I beleive they sold their own brand of pop in small glass bottles that you would return when you bought more. I don't remember if there was a deposit on each bottle, but we would take them back and buy more pop. When I moved to Ohio I am pretty sure we called it soda and still say soda here in Florida. When I go to a restaurant I just say what it is I want. I don't say I want a pop. I say I want Coke or Sprite. I do know saying you want Coke in certain southern states may result in them following up with a question of what kind; root beer, orange Fanta, etc.
I live in Canada about 80 km (50 miles) north of Toronto On. Interesting was shopping today at a local store, (Giant Tiger) and there was a display of Pop Shop pop, Cotten Candy, Black Cherry, plus several other flavours.

Rick and I grew up in Denver, where we called it pop. Our daughter calls it soda, which is weird because we raised her. But even the sign at Costco calls it "Pop."

We had a place in Denver called The Pop Shop, and we also had Duffy's pop in bottles (dating myself), and my favorite flavor was Lime Rickey. It was spelled just like that. We also the usual flavors.

What do you call it?

Other things in Vancouver that are different:
Gravy with french fries (do you want a side of gravy with that?). Delicious gravy that tastes like a thick au jus.
A concoction of french fries, curds and gravy, which has a name that I do not remember right now. They sell it at Costco here in Vancouver by our hotel.
Nachos are bland and not seasoned beef (everywhere we have been so far).
USA people visiting other countries are so 1960s cute and innocent.

How do you pronounce that? Poo-teen?

I think of New Orleans with a spelling like that. Is this a New Orleans thing, do you know?
Thank you for this post, it made my day.

A fascinating place in Vancouver, on the UBC campus is the Museum of Anthropology.
Yes! I'm not a big fan of museums but loved this, plus the tour guides are great.

Never used a tour guide there. I didn't know they had them.

We were in Vancouver BC from 7/19/22 to 8/2/22. We stayed at the WM Canadian. The new A.C. was greatly appreciated. We always Book a 2 Bedroom with no Dining Room. The Bedrooms and Bathrooms are bigger. They give you 4 TV Dinner Trays for eating. We were there for the International Fireworks Competition. We saw the Canadian and Spanish Teams. It was pretty amazing,. The nearest Costco in Washington to the Canadian Border is in Bellingham. We stop there to fill up on our way to Canada. Crossing into Canada was not bad. About 15 minutes. Coming home it took over an hour. Except for our 2 days of rest we walked 5 to 9 miles per day. We never used our car.

Did you make it to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park or Grouse Mountain?
Agree, Cap Bridge and any of the mountains are a must see.
