We don't GO enough & roll lots of Wyn pts into RCI. That's another $199 for each RCI week when we do the exchange. For 2012, that will be 9 times if we use them all ($1800).

Does it make sense to trade in 217k Wyndham points and obtain 3k from The CLUB. DRI wants $12 grand (upfront) for 3k. There's another $850 in annual fees. This will allow paying out $654 less in total annual fees. I presently pay $2345 to Wyndham annually.

I will then have 154k Wyndham points rather than 371k.

I do wonder: why would I pay $12,000 to own less. I know we would have less RCI exchanges to pay-out.

How difficult is it to stay at CLUB places with only 3000 points? I do understand that 3000 will obtain several stays if booked less than 59 days from check-in. We do similar with Wyn points, but I experience little availability. Is there any difficulty in this regard with the Club.

Spouting here, but I do hope to learn a bit.
Hopefully there are experienced members here who can compare.

Can't you just give away the Wyndham points you don't want anymore?

I'm sure there would be a taker. :)

Makes no sense to pay 12K to do something you could do for free.
I don't know anything about DRI but couldn't you then buy those points resale for less than 12K?

No resort in mind. Was checking with the Diamond RI reps at Williamsburg about their programs. They offerred to take 2 of my Wyn properties (amounting to 217k points) toward 3000 DRI points. The cost to me, with the trade-in= $13000.

Pretty expensive sounding to me.

I was trying to get some idea of what I can get with 3000 DRI points compared against 217000 Wyndham pts.

I have no knowledge of the DRI system other then what The Sellers are pointing out.

I do not know anything about them either, however, I went to their web page. It appears the stays are for 7 nights. I know your preference appears to be for non-Wynhdam resorts, however, between keeping your points and running with a group that does not appear to have less then 7 night stays, I would stay with Wynhdam. Not use RCI, and get used to the Wyndham Resorts. Actually, I think they are pretty good resorts.
