I've been perusing Ebay, and am curious as to how Valdoro works.

The listing states that you get 7,000HGVC points + a fixed week in ski season (worth and additional 7,000 HGVC points) biannually.

Does anyone have experience or own at Valdoro?

Is it considered an affiliate? How easy is it to get and use/trade the HGVC points from it if it is?

I would love to have a guaranteed place to go skiing every other year in addition to 7,000 points...with the option of 14,000points every other year should i not go skiing.

Also, should I want to achieve elite status (I currently have 5000 points), would this make me qualify?

Please enlighten me!

Thanks!:whoopie:

Those two week packages were common when Valdoro originally sold the property. I'm not an owner, but have stayed there on Open Season. It is a very nice property, but the rooms are a bit small. They have nice hot tubs, but the pool is sub-par -- it is just access to an outdoor pool that is next door that is just covered with a temporary dome during the winter. You have to walk outside to access it, so it is not very convenient in the winter! You can get more information about the property at Valdoro's web site.

Valdoro is an affiliate. It is very difficult to get a ski week reservation at the 9-month Club Season mark, since all ski weeks are fixed weeks. Automatic reservations are made for owners, and only if they cancel that reservation will space open up for non-owners. But owners usually don't cancel 9 months in advance, so it is a crap shoot as to when space will open up for a non-owner.

It seems like this would be ideal for you then.

No. The only way to achieve elite status is to purchase all of your points from HGVC directly, which would cost you literally $10's of thousands more. It is the general consensus of this board that the few elite benefits are not worth the extra cost.

Valdoro has been discussed quite a bit in the forum in the past. You may want to perform a search for more information.
