Vaccine tourism has been occurring since the beginning of COVID, where people who did not have access to the vaccine they wanted would travel in order to get it. Story: https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-58004253

In Vegas we were getting international travelers coming to get vaccinated before any vaccines were available in their country. Or people who didn't want the vaccines that they qualified for in their countries or states would travel to other places to get the vaccine they wanted and since Vegas was one of the places that offered vaccines without requiring ID, some people came to Vegas to get vaccines.

Well, the new one is Novavax. And it's showing to be especially effective. But in USA it's only available for people who haven't been vaccinated yet. In Europe and Japan it's allowed as a booster to people who already got an mRNA vaccine. So... what is happening now? Well, some educated and daring Americans are doing vaccine tourism to try to get Novavax as a booster. And they're talking about it on Twitter.

The methods they are using:
- Get a doctor to prescribe it for you (legit, no lying)
- Lie and say you lost your ID, give a fake name no insurance. Say this is your first dose. (not legit, likely illegal, but unlikely to have significant legal consequences)
- Travel out of state so they can't check your vax record, use your real ID but decline to share your insurance info. (not legit, maybe illegal? very unlikely to have legal consequences)

I HAVE NOT DONE THIS - I AM NOT ADVOCATING DOING THIS
But... it's definitely about travel ;)

This has been explained to you many times. Feels like you're just trying to get the thread locked.
But I'll explain again, something can work 40% of the time and if something else works 70% of the time then the 70% is better than the 40% but the 40% is still better than nothing.
Whether something "works" or not isn't black and white like a light switch; it's like a dimmer or a volume control.

What if you had J&J, then Moderna as a booster?
I am not sure. Would check with your Doctor. I suspect there is information, but I am not keeping up to date on all combinations.

In the recent past the thought on mixing different types of vaccines is that viral vector vaccines can attack a subunit vaccines because it recognizes the protein as an antigen. The observation is that mrna +mrna produces a better immune response than mrna + subunit or mrna + viral vector. Mrna vaccines loose efficacy to a point that there isn't an immune response to the subunit Novavax protein so it has been approved which means a certain amount of time between mrna or viral vector vaccines is needed to take a subunit vaccine.

The observation on the new bivalent booster includes a side effect which is a pro-longed flu to some of those that take the new jab. It might be a good idea to get a flu shot a few weeks in front of a booster.

.
"the experts say they don’t expect this bivalent recipe—or future autumn COVID shots, for that matter—to be worse, side-effect-wise, than the ones we’ve received before."

Currently that's not formally allowed in the USA but some doctors will approve it and write a script for it.
It IS allowed in other countries.
