I have a 2BR Vacation Village at Parkway (4940) on hold for RCI extra vacation in April, 2016. My only experience with Orlando timeshares has been staying with the Mouse. I have read TUG threads/reviews and need to know how to insure that I get a refurbished unit? What about parking at the resort? What else should I know about this resort?

Thanks, Judy

Plenty of parking

This is a big place, There are old buildings, old buildings refurbished and new buildings. I only stay in the older buildings as thats where they stick those of us that bring our dogs, and Ive been quite satisfied

The two bedrooms here are lockoffs some are A+B and some are A+C the B units are small, The C units are identical to the As and I believe the A+Cs are all the newer units. so one way to insure the better units is to get an A+C

Ive had good luck here arriving early and asking for the building and floor I want

Ive attached a resort map The oldest buildings are 1-6 The buildings on the interstate are quite nice but some complain about the road noise

As Ron said it is a huge resort. We like to stay near the front (Bldg 6 prior to the new 21 or 22 opening) so its closer for walking along 192. The type of unit (A/B or A/C) you booked will determine which buildings you can stay in.

There are lots of parking spaces but if you are there when the place is near capacity and try to find a parking spot later in the evening you may end up parking quite a ways away (at another bldg) from your unit. Nothing like coming home from a long day with the mouse only to find you need to walk half way across the resort grounds from your parking spot!

If having the afternoon sun on the swimming pool is important to you look carefully at what building you request. Many of the groups of buildings create shade on the pool area after lunch.

Have a great trip!

I just booked a two bdrm unit at VVP for April. We were there last August and requested the newest building, number 21. The units were the best ever! Since I prefer newer units, we were given a unit on the 3rd floor, which was on the same floor as the new gym. We had to walk past the gym to get to our unit, but I only used it once. I am planning to request this building again, unless number 22 is finished by April. We didn't have much of a view, but everything in our unit was immaculate. I loved being in this building. Buildings 21 and 22 are closest to check in and near Hwy 192.

As for parking, there are plenty spaces in the entire resort, but depending upon the time that you return, you may have a little walk to the entrance of your building. We have been to this resort at least 4-5 times, but we go mainly for r & r.

Oh, the bathrooms in both A & C units in the newest building are huge! Both bathrooms and kitchens are the same size, but the C size does not have a stove. It has a two burner, which worked out great for my family.
