I am looking at booking a Last Call in Sept in Orlando. Of my choices there is Vacation Villages at Parkway, which I have seen people on TUG say nice things about.

My question is has anyone been there lately. There is a message on the RCI website that warns of ongoing construction. How bad is it and will it intrude on the vacation stay at all. I am booking this for a family member.

No, the noise is not a problem. The buildings are very nice, and the new construction has never been an issue for us. We have stayed there four times, and always had a new unit.

It's a great place to stay while visiting Disney. The interiors are as nice as the Marriott Grande Vista. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Cindy,
I remembered you had given it high marks in the past, that it one of the main reasons why I picked it. Thanks for your help.

This is way off topic, but Devin is my son's name! I only know one other with the same spelling.

I stayed at Vacation Village last Christmas. Our unit was nice, but I would never return. The buildings are typical cookie cutter Orlando high rises. They are close together and surround the swimming pool, hence you'll never see the sun unless you leave the property. The pool is shaded most of the day. There are no activities, and the sales people are RELENTLESS! It's a good location, that's about it.

We generally stay during hotter weather, and the shade from the tall buildings is very nice around the pool. But I am allergic to the sun, so I appreciate the shade because I don't have to wear sunblock. It's something to consider if you have little ones.

The sales staff was no worse than anything we encountered. I have learned to unplug the phone after the first early morning call at every Orlando resort.

We went on a sales tour one visit, before I knew better (before TUG). They kept us WAY too long. The gal was very nice, and her name was Adrienne, but I was ready for another meal, before they were done, so it was probably a total of 3 hours. I thought the gal was going to offer to drive us back over to Celebration for lunch (we already went there for breakfast).

We stayed here in Apr 08. It was a very nice resort We had a two bedroom unit that was one small unit and one larger unit(a & b units). Both had a kitchen and a washer/dryer. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. There is no-smoking inside the units. The grandkids loved the pools and the activity center. Depending on the time of year, the lack of sun in the pools is a welcome relief. Never noticed the construction. Some of the new buildings have internet access. Our building didn't so we had to go to the building where you check in. We would stay here again.
