Just did a presntation at Ko Olina, I was going to enroll my week and eoy week. Instead was talked into buying 500 points to get me into premier, since my annual average is 6037 points, this would get me to 6537 points if I traded my week and a half in and puts me in the "premier" status. Was told I can book from both buckets of inventory which increases my chances and was told that I can book RC club, standard members can not. Well ultimately I canceled the contract next day after doing some research, sales person left out a few details and was not entirley truthful.

Can anyone clearify if RC club is available to book by non premier members with only legacy points?

Can I use my legacy points to trade back into my home resort with a better view or a larger unit? I understand it will cost more.

Thanks!

good morning....

Here we go again...

You now have 6037 Legacy/Enrolled points and 500 Trust points. These points are separate and distinct. Your Enrolled points do not change and only your 500 Trust points have DIRECT access to Trust inventory. Your 6037 points have access to both buckets only when they comingle thru the Exchange company....

Gaining Premier has some advantages!!! Yes, you can upgrade view and size at your home resort depending on availability!! It will cost you some"skim" but there are ways around this!!!

You do have access to some Ritz stuff, but only at 6 months!!!

RC is not owned by the Trust...The inventory is in the Exchange Company!!!

Before ypur rescind period ends, I would ask your rep tp put in wriitng that your Trust points+Legacy. he only told you this because even without the purchase the Legacy points ha

The only thing you truly gained by yyour purchse is 500 more pts of vacation and Premier status and the ability to book some minimal RC stuff..

Wow. They really lowered the 'minimum' purchase on that 500 point transaction.

I guess some rules are made to be broken.

Puck,

I wouldn't call the RC Residences in SF, Vail, and Aspen "minimal stuff". Having stayed at these properties, IMHO they are on par with any other luxury accommodations in the World.:)

I believe the Ritz-Carlton Vail is part of the trust. That in itself should not encourage one to purchase 500 points to become Premier.

good morning....

I asked regarding the 6 month time frame for ressies... WAs told that RC members actually ownthis property not the Trust... The true owners get 12 month dibs...

Fractional... it is minimal if you have to take the 6month left overs....I did try just for kicks to snag some availibility and it was nextto nothing!!!

Thanks for the reply. So it sounds like I can do everything I wanted to do with out purchasing the extra 500 points. Mainly I wanted to come back to my home resort at an upgraded view or larger 3 bedroom unit and access the RC club San Francisco. I am not interested in the cruises and other explorer experiences. $5900 for 500 points for minimum premier requirements that do not grandfather into future premier requirement does not add up for me.

You won't have access to the RC Club San Francisco unless you are Premier or Premier Plus.

As far as ownership of the Ritz-Carlton Vail, there is probably some fractional ownership from original sales, but the majority of ownership looks like it was transferred to the trust as shown by the trust listings referred to in an earlier TUG topic.

Item #154, click on Ritz-Carlton Vail

I don't know how many units Vail has in total, but from looking at the trust documents, there are 27 full units (weeks 1-52) conveyed to the trust.

The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club Vail property is co-located with the The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Vail (whole ownership). My understanding is that the building houses 71 private residences and 45 fractional residences.
