USS John Basilone, warship named for legendary Marine, delivered to the Navy

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works delivered the USS John Bassilone to the US Navy on July 8. The ship is a Flight IIA variant of Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. Gunnery Sgt. John Basilone is the only enlisted Marine to receive the Medal of Honor and Navy Cross during World War II.
