Have you used Wyndham Rewards points to book nights at Wyndham timeshare resorts? For 7500 points per bedroom/night it seems like a very good deal. With the Wyndham credit card that is even discounted to 6750 points per bedroom/night.

Maybe another question for you Wyndham TS owners, were you aware of this possible use of Wyndham rewards points?

The CC signup bonus of 75K points earlier this year was really nice!

Yes, this is likely the highest value use for these points. 7500 points (or 6750 as you have stated) can get you a 1 bedroom unit per night with zero taxes and fees. One of my favorites has been the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix. This makes for a great base to visit the many wonderful attractions, to include the fascinating Musical Instrument Museum mim.org

Since Vacasa has already been significantly devalued, I really hope these rates stick.

I would like to share a list of these resorts that I was given by the Concierge (body snatcher!?) when in Phoenix this past April. As a Worldmark owner, I am generally offered 15K to 30K points for the 60 minute “owners update.” This one was good for 20K, so as a result the three nights (Fri, Sat and Sun = 20.25K) ended up with a net cost of 250 WR points. Not too shabby…..

The people on this forum have been an excellent resource for me and my family. Please utilize these two pages to the best of your enjoyment.

Cheers!

5x points on gas purchases is a plus for this card. The Points Guy values these points at 1.1 cents. That seems about right. As you said there are no taxes or fees on points stays.

For hotel nights, It's a simple 3 tier points system. 7500, 15K, or 30K per night. The 10% discount with the CC brings that down to 6750, 13.5K, or 27K per night. The highest % of properties are 15K.

Another nice thing is that rate is often the same for all room types. We have used some of our points at some nice La Quinta Inns and reserved a suite each time. I think you have to be careful selecting more budget oriented chains but so far choosing locations with good reviews has worked well.
These LQ stays had clean spacious rooms, comfortable beds, nice decor, and a decent hot breakfast. Exactly what we needed on a road trip!

I would point out a few things about this from my own experience. Rooms are not made available at all times like they are at hotels. I doubt you'll find availability in any location during their busy periods. Also most of the resorts will be 15k points per bedroom. There are only a few locations that charge 7500 points and that may not be a permanent feature. The most popular resorts, Bonnet Creek and Clearwater for example, will be 30k points. I also noticed 1 or 2 resorts (I can't remember which) that had no points only rates; it was points plus cash.

Having said that, if you find yourself traveling in non prime time, you can snag a very nice 1 bedroom deluxe for 15k points. I actually have current bookings for multiple nights in 1 bedroom deluxe units at Nashville, Panama City Beach and Atlantic City later this year using Rewards points.

In my opinion, Wyndham Rewards points are really difficult to use for a good value at their hotels. There is apparently good value to be found in using points for their Vacasa program, but I don't have any personal experience with that.

I don't understand what you mean by getting a discount "With the Wyndham credit card that is even discounted to 6750 points per bedroom/night."

I am a WR rewards member, have the WR Mastercard and it's tied to my WR account. I have booked MANY, MANY stays using WR points including Cypress Palms, Sea Gardens, Shawnee Village Kingsgate and Fairfield Glade using WR points at the 7500 points per night rate, but i'm not seeing what you mean or how you get this disounted to 6750.

When you book through the WyndhamHotels.com website, and log in, and select "book using points", it shows you the WR points value and you "aren't booking with a credit card", you just use the points in your WR account.

Can you elaborate here?

Only a few resorts are 7500 points, most are 15000, which I think is still a pretty good deal. As it is, I use the WR card to pay my Club Wyndham MF and am able to get several stays a year for free using WR points to book resorts instead of their sub-par hotels when possible.

i suspect you have an older Wyndham credit card. Their card lineup was refreshed a few years ago. Newly issued cards are called Earner Cards and there are 3 of them. Those are the cards that have the discounted points policy. I too have the older card and so I do not get the discount either.

We attend plenty of WM presentation and earn Wyndham Rewards points. We have stayed at The Camlin in Seattle several time as well as Running Y using Wyndham Rewards points. We also got a hotel in San Francisco during a big convention for 30,000 WR points that was $600 cash rate.

That is correct, I was referring to the Wyndham Rewards earner VISA credit card that is one of their current offerings. Card is issued by Barclays. The 75K sign-up bonus (for $2K spend) earlier this year was much better than the current sign-up bonus.
