I recently converted one of my TS from RCI weeks to RCI points and waiting for points account to be established. During the "converstion pitch"; I was told my other TS (Red RCI week / 2 BR); could be deposited into the "points" pool and used in the points system (this would be possible as long as this TS was a week based resort). If they ever converted to points; I would not be able to continue and would have to convert or .....

Having read other posts; I see other TUGGER's refer to having and using both their weeks AND points account. Can someone please clarify how this actually works; I'm very confused right now.

Thanks,
Al

Points for Deposit is a year-by-year choice. You phone RCI and pay a $26 fee. They followup with the resort (to confirm that you're the owner and that the maintenance has been paid), and the points appear in your RCI Points account generally a few days after that.

Since you use your RCI Points account to spend those points, that's where you go. The RCI Points website gives you a choice of making a standard reservation (at an RCI Points-participating property, generally starting 10 months ahead), or making an RCI weeks reservation (at a non-RCI Points-participating property starting 2 years ahead).

So you wouldn't be logging onto RCI Weeks unless you also had one or more RCI weeks that you'd neither (i) converted to RCI Points where applicable nor (ii) traded into points-for-deposit for the year in question.
