We have reservations for the Aruba Surf Club in Jan 09 and are taking another couple with us. Our reservations are Fri-Fri but because the flight back leaves early in the morning we decided to stay til Saturday. I can not find any place to stay the extra night that I think is worth the money. We have a week deposited with II that we may not be able to use before it expires. I was thinking of booking that for a Sat-Sat stay. Was also thinking of booking it at the Ocean Club so we would have full use of both facilities. I realize both reservations would have to be under my name and we would have all guest listed in each unit.

Does anyone see a problem in doing this?

Also, how likely is it that we could get that second week through II?

dont forget the taxes

I am not sure how easy the booking would be but dont forget that you will be charge about 7.50 tax per night per room. so it would be the loss of the week deposited plus the exchange fee thru II and the 52.50 in taxes for that one night stay.

Try bidding for one night on priceline. If you choose 4 star and resort and bid between 90 - 100. I got one night at the Marriott Stellaris for $100. Taxes made it $124.

When we invited this couple to go with us we told them they would not have to worry about paying for the room as we have a two bedroom. I told them they would have to pay for the extra night but I was thinking I could find two rooms for around $350-400. I have tried priceline and have had no luck so far. All the decent hotels want way more than that for one room or has nothing available.

I am almost certain that we would not be able to use the deposited week before it expires. I would rather use it then than not all but want to make sure that I can do that. I don't think it would be a problem but figured I'd ask on here and get every ones input.

I know I'm late but

maybe the Marriott Aruba Hotel which is on the same property as the Aruba Timeshare Resort is an option. It certainly is conveniently located in relation to the Timeshares.

And it may be available with your MR points.

I had two rooms for consecutive weeks booked in my name with the guests' names added to the reservations. As long as you have deposited the week and a trade unit is available*, you'll have no problem with your name on two different rooms at the same resort.

*I also noticed that you asked about the likelihood, but sorry, I can't help you there. Good luck though!

Thanks for the replies but we just booked the extra night at Amsterdam Manor. We can only hope that we can get away and use that deposited week before it expires next year.

I used the MOD discount at the Surf club to add a Studio for the night before and 2 nights after our stay in June and the rate for a gardenview 1bd for 1 night is $239 plus tax, and the oceanview studio is $209 plus tax. Just a thought. Although not sure what the rates are in Jan.

What is a MOD discount ??? Thanks

MOD is the discount code you can use when booking a reservation via the Marriott.com website. You must be a MVCI owner to be eligable for this discount. I beleive it can range from 20-35% off.
