Does anyone use the II App?

I see you can set up Getaway alerts but can you set up Exchange alerts as well?

What other useful things can you do with the app?

I tried doing a search here but I can't find anything. 🤷‍♀️

Thanks.

The II App is good for getaway alerts and checking them, as sometimes there is a delay between inventory going in and an alert going out, so when you select the alert, you get a white screen, as the inventory isn't there. You can set up to 14 separate alerts and each alert can be for a max of 90 days date range duration and you can do those upto 2-years ahead.

There is no function for exchange alerts, other than setting up a request, but some resorts do put inventory into getaway and exchange so getaway alerts can be used for those.

There is also the mobile website, not great, and the full website via a mobile device, which isn't bad.

The App presents inventory by date and then by resort, so if you search by several resort codes or an area, its different to how the website displays it. I prefer the format of the website of grouping availability by resort.

When you do vacation search on the App, it can default to searching for both getaways and exchanges, which can appear to give odd results, so double check the setting at the top of the screen before you search.

I've never got the resort directory to work sensibly when I want to look up a resort in a location, it might just be me....

Now and then people report different results from searching the App vs the website, its difficult to tell whether that real or a timing issue or user error, but it can be worth using both just in case.... Retrading via the app can also give better results then via the website.

I'm not sure this is true anymore. Also, after the recent II changes where fees are made visible, I've been getting errors when I try to retrade and had to revert to the website to complete the retrade. :(

Ugggh. I was hoping that the alerts would work for the exchanges somehow but maybe if they put the same inventory in getaway that might give me a heads up.
I doubt this would work for Disney but I guess with Marriott this might work.

And I guess I should start searching with the app too.
I tend to avoid using the app because I like having all the resorts in the field already pre-populated.

Thanks.

They really did a number on the website since the "enhancement".
Lots of errors. So frustrating.

Its a bit hit and miss with MVC using getaway alerts to spot exchange inventory, as they tend to release their getaway inventory later than their exchange inventory, but if you see it as a getaway, its then worth checking if its on an AC.

I believe that in the app you can save specific resorts and then search by them, but I've not tried it myself.

Last year I was shocked to see Crystal Shores and Oceana Palms on Getaways.
Granted they were a good deal for $950 a week but would be even better to get on an AC.
I haven't had much luck in the past with using those AC's but this year I've gotten 2 Marriott exchanges with them
so maybe I just haven't been working them correctly. I got a Doral and Beach Place unit so far and I know those
aren't that coveted but an off season Crystal Shores or OP would work for me.

Since I had my CMV UDI in the past, it was just easier to search with a 2 bedroom and call it a day.
It was pretty much pulling everything I needed with a regular exchange, but now that I don't own it, I am forced to
find alternatives. Was hoping the app would help. I'll try setting it up and see what happens.
