Using Plus Partners for a cruise

I received an email about using points for a cruise. So I decided to call in and get the details on a cruise that they touted:

Norwegian Cruise Line (which is the only cruise line that you can use full points for)
October 19-26, 2024
Alaska (okay other than this is now easily a month past too cold for an Alaska cruise)

I could use my points. For an oceanview cabin, it will be 776,741 for two people (not including port fees/gratuities/PP fee of $69.)

I also looked it up as to how much it would cost me to simply book an oceanview cabin myself. It was $879 per person double occupancy.

I then inquired about Free at Sea. I was told that it would be an extra $1000 out of pocket for that. Ironically, my $879 per person included Free at Sea.

So at the end of the day I could pay $1758 plus fees, etc
OR
I could spend 776,741 points and $1000 plus fees, etc. So this, in essence, is placing a value of 776,741 points at $690.

I didn't think that this could possibly be a worse conversion than MF or Reward points, but apparently it is.

And for the record, while I do have WAY TOO MANY POINTS TO USE, it was never going to happen.

These types of use of points regardless of the timeshare company or system are always a bad value.
