I wonder if Egypt will do anything due to the revenue lost... This also probably annoys China, though only because they don't really have their road initiative up and running.

The US should really just stop supporting Israel and pressure them to stop the Gaza fighting. IDK if that would really get the Houthi's to stop the shipping attacks, but it would probably hurt the PR of the rebels - at least if Israel actually pulled out of Gaza.

I think the rest of the world kind of has routed around this problem - longer shipping times, but we got used to delays with the pandemic, and we're moving some things ever more to closer sources to mitigate this as well. So the other way out of this IMO is stop using the Suez canal, pull the US Navy out, and let the Houthis have nothing to attack.
