There is a thread if a vaccine came out would you take it and I said definitely yes.

After reading that the US and China are neck in neck to be first in creating a vaccine, I thought, would I even trust Chinas Vaccine?

What do you think?

There are several labs. I wouldn’t hesitate actually. When my sis was trying to decide btwn academia and corporate, she was courted by labs outside of the US, including China.

I would trust a vaccine from anywhere if the FDA approves it. I have read that whoever develops a vaccine first will have an advantage because they can give it to their citizens first. I guess if multiple countries develop an effective vaccine, there could be multiple tracks, with different countries using different vaccines.

Topic: Would you trust a vaccine produced by China?

NO...
I don`t trust anyone or anything drug related at this time regarding the Coronvirus

Americans trust that drugs approved by the FDA are safe, but this is not always the case. There is evidence that indicates why we can no longer trust the FDA to carry out its historic mission to protect the public from harmful and ineffective drugs.

Sinovac Biotech
A Chinese pharmaceutical company carrying out human trials for a coronavirus vaccine says it’s ready to start producing its product on a mass scale. However there’s still no word on when the drug might make it to market.

Medicare Email ~ regarding "How To"
Protect yourself when getting prescriptions

As we all take steps to slow the spread of COVID-19 by staying home and social distancing, you may be facing new challenges about how to meet basic household needs, such as getting your medicines.

The CDC recommends limiting in-person visits to the pharmacy to help you protect yourself from COVID-19 when getting your prescriptions. Here are some tips:

Call in prescription orders ahead of time.
Use drive-thru windows, curbside services, mail-order, or other delivery services.
Try to make one trip, picking up all medicine at the same time.

During this time, you may also want to contact your Medicare prescription drug plan to see if they've temporarily waived certain requirements to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 like waiving prescription refill limits or relaxing restrictions on home or mail delivery of prescription drugs.

For more general information about COVID -19
and your Medicare coverage, visit Medicare.gov.

If the question is : Do I trust scientists - YES / place of birth is immaterial .

We all want to make sure the proper safety & effectiveness trials are done before any new treatment or drug is approved for world use .

That said - the world is still. awaiting the AIDS vaccine - and it has been close to 40 years .

We do now have effective treatments for those who have the AIDS virus ;and we know what safety measures
can be used to prevent transmission of various sorts .

So you won't take a FDA approved treatment meds and vaccine for COVID-19? IF you do get COVID-19, will you decline all medications?

I honestly don't trust the Chinese manufacturing safety standards. I've been skeptical ever since the dog food fiasco. It's probably unfounded but my gut feeling is distrust. Don't worry, I don't trust anyone who has misled me in the past. It's nothing personal.

I wont trust them for ANY prescriptions, let alone a new and not extensively tested vaccine. PRC=:devilish:
I had a blood pressure med Valsartan about 2 yrs ago taken off shelves because of carcinogens .it was manufactured in China. I had to switch to a different med which was too strong. I'm back on Valsartan but its produced in Canada.

I'm in Portugal now and the pharmacy tells me very few drugs from China here. They are from other European countries.

We've become friends with the wife and daughter of a surgeon who is here for a year of research and cross-training at Case Western Reserve University. They arrived from Wuhan China in August.

International exchange of scientific research is key in finding a vaccine or treatment for Covid-19 and if China develops either with data to back up the results, I'd not hesitate to take those drugs.

No I don’t think I would trust anything from China....look at all of the tests and PPE equipment they sold that was defective. In addition to the dog food debacle, there was also something regarding baby formula a while back. We need to become less reliant on imports for medicine, in my opinion. At one point, they were threatening to cut off the supply chain for antibiotics and other drugs. Not a good idea to be so dependent on that government.

I am hoping that US brings manufacturing of drugs back home. I never looked where my one medicine I take is made. I will be asking next time and hopefully there is an alternative if from China.

China just rubs me the wrong way especially now. I don’t trust them or anything they make. Prior to this virus I was staying away from products made by them. I had to make a conscious effort to find items I needed not made in China.

Ummm. Your cell phone was made in China. Ditto your TV, your fridge, your washer/dryer. Most of your clothes- except those that come from Vietnam or Bangladesh. Even your MAGA hat was made in China. Virtually everything purchased at Walmart started it's journey to you in China. Even if the medicines you take say they are made in USA, there is high likelihood that it contains ingredients produced in China.

We have become a society of cost-conscious consumers. Price beats all other issues every time. And China has become the low-priced provider.

Be careful what you ask for.

NINETY PERCENT OF the prescription drugs consumed in the United States are generics, and the majority of them are produced overseas, mostly in India and China

FDA inspectors typically show up unannounced at domestic manufacturing plants. But overseas operators often get weeks, or even months, of advance notice. That forewarning has given rise to an intricate web of global deception.

That forewarning has given rise to an intricate web of global deception. Here are some of the more innovative techniques the FDA has run into.

1. Serve Inspectors Contaminated Water
2. Pretest Your Samples in Secret
3. Change Any Data You Don’t Like
4. Make Stuff Up
5. Use a Secret Lab
6. Allow Your Software to Crash
7. Don’t Leave a Trail
8. When in Doubt, Take the Investigator Hostage

Yep. Ever since the dog food fiasco I decided that if something that I am going to ingest touches something else, I don't want it to be from China. Some things that I purchased that were sourced in China smelled so bad that it made me wonder what chemicals were used in the production. So I decided to make a change. I have been doing this semi-religiously for the past few years and it is very difficult, but it's possible. This year my youngest wanted stainless steel pots and pans for Christmas. I finally found some Tramotina branded ones that were made from materials made in Brazil and assembled in the US. Sometimes you really have to dig for the information, but sometime I have a complete brain fart and forget to check.

Another sure way is to buy used products made "back in the day". Estate sales are great for this. Good quality things can last forever. You can pick these up for peanuts at estate sales. In fact I was just able to get a bunch of free things for my daughter at a friend's mom's house. Pyrex, knives, glassware, cookie sheets etc. Why buy new?

I would gladly pay more and have less to have control over our destiny. We are the reason China became strong and they can so easily hurt us, just cut us off from everything they supply.

My cars are made in the USA as are my appliances. My computer was assembled here, unfortunately parts are not made here. I buy clothing that are not made in China, I am able to find USA at times. If there was a cellular phone made here I would get it even if it wasn’t as good as my iPhone.

I make a conscious effort to not buy made in China products. Overall successful but it does take a bit of awareness and effort.

Just thinking it out I purchase, pots and pans, linen, all meats and fish, almost all produce, basically my food, cosmetics, baking sheets, cleansers, made in the USA.

Utensils and baking pans I was not able to find so purchased used ones that were like new on ebay when they use to be made in the USA.
