Went to presentation. Did not buy.

Question: Is there any way to become VIP when you buy resale?

Another question: Is it worth it? Mainly because I like the perk of being able to upgrade to a larger room if available.

Take over your parents' VIP account.

Basicly, NO. It is a sales perk totally subject to changing rules and guidelines. And HOW the rules changed over the years. :eek:

Wyndham sales counts on the illusion of value and privilege for the few who want to be special ... HOW many "member" tags do you have on YOUR key chain? You carry them around and shop those stores to "maybe" get 1% or less off on your purchase .. but supplying invaluable marketing info to the store ... to just target their ads (via the web) to come and wander around again.

Years ago it was way cheaper and easier ... Wyndham has BOOSTED the points needed to become VIP and has boosted the prices ... plus almost degraded to nothing, but another hook ... the PIC value ... to PIC PLUS as a 5 year perk ... which then requires you to buy MORE Wyndham points to keep your status.

So evaluate the desire to buy enough points to be VIP (anything) ... carefully.
